Central Valley, Chile
The wine called Siete Soles meaning "the seven suns" is named after a legend depicted on the rocks of an ancient Inca site close to the winery in the Central Valley of Chile. It is one of the quality wines produced by Sur Andino. The palate is medium-bodied with a fresh, smooth and pleasant aftertaste.

Unusually for Rioja, all the Valdemar grapes come from the family’s own vineyards (400 hectares of them!), giving unrivalled control over the quality of the fruit at every level. Grapes for the Crianza are grown in Oyón (Rioja Alavesa), Logroño (Rioja Alta) and Ausejo (Rioja Baja). Complex aromas of ripe black berries balanced with warm vanilla notes and a touch of subtle spice. Excellent, rounded structure on the palate with aromatic complexity lasting through to the finish.

Charmes-Dessus is the superior half of premier cru Les Charmes, one of Meursault’s greatest vineyards. It borders Meursault Perrières to the west, and Puligny Combettes to the south. The vines used here are forty-five years old. The soil is worked to ensure proper aeration, and yields are controlled by pruning, the addition of natural, slow-release fertilizer, severe removal of excess buds, and green-harvesting. The harvest is done by hand.Classic top-end Meursault, combining flavours of white toast and red apples with a mineral purity on the one hand, and a honeyed richness on the other. Exceptional balance and finesse from a great vineyard.

Alfredo Prunotto gave his name and thirty-three years of his life to this renowned winery in Piedmont. Since 1989 it has been owned by the Antinori family, who have sought to boost the already high standards by extending the vineyard holdings, including plots in the de facto grands crus of Bric Turot and Bussia. The quality of the top wines goes without saying, but the rest of the range is made with equal aplomb. The style is modern without being exaggerated: freshness of aroma and approachability of structure are viewed as positives.Floral, smoky and intensely elegant: Barolo at its best.
